About our nutritionists and how we work
NutriSelaras is an online nutrition service based in Palembang, Sumatera Selatan. We connect adults and families across Indonesia with registered nutritionists for consultation, meal planning, and follow-up.
Who does the work, and what this page answers
The service runs remotely by default, which is what makes it usable for people outside the big cities. Someone in Palembang, Bandung, or a smaller town in Sulawesi works through the same intake, the same assessment, and the same follow-up rhythm.
This page explains who does the work, how sessions are organized, and what we will and will not do. If you are weighing up whether an online consultation fits your situation, the honest answer depends on how your week actually runs, not on how motivated you feel on a Sunday night.
What the service is
Registered nutritionist consultation, a written plan, and follow-up you can keep for months.
What it is not
A prescription service, a hospital program, or a promise about how fast your body will change.
Services Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00. Consultations are scheduled around your working week.
The people behind the consultations
Every consultation is handled by a registered nutritionist with formal nutrition training and ongoing practice in Indonesian food contexts. Some focus on weight management, some on family and child nutrition, some on sports and active living. Assignments follow the topic you pick at registration, so the person reading your intake has already worked on cases like yours.
Areas our nutritionists practise in
Weight management and eating rhythm
Portions, meal timing, and structure that survives a working week
Family and child nutrition
Starting solids, picky eating, one family meal instead of three
Sports and active living
Fuelling training days and ordinary days differently
Life-cycle nutrition
From pregnancy through older age, with portions that shift by stage
We keep the network small enough that a nutritionist can remember your case between sessions. That is the point of staying small: you are not explaining your household from scratch every month.
How the service is organized
Registration comes first, but it is a written intake rather than a booking slot. A nutritionist reads it before anyone contacts you.
Registration
The form captures your goal, your eating pattern, and the context that matters
Not just a target weight or a number on a label. We ask what your day looks like, who else eats at your table, what your market actually stocks, and which meals you prepare yourself. Vague answers here produce a plan you abandon in three weeks.
Review and contact
A nutritionist reviews the intake, then contacts you to confirm the session and format
If your case belongs somewhere other than a general online consultation, this is the point where we say so and explain which kind of service would fit better. That conversation costs you nothing and saves you weeks.
Assessment
You work through assessment, plan, and monitoring at a pace you set
The first session establishes what you eat now and why. The plan follows in a form you can actually read. Monitoring is a short check-in, not a lecture: what held, what slipped, what to adjust for the coming fortnight.
Between sessions
Chat consultation stays open for small practical questions
Which cooking oil at the shop, whether a packet is worth it, how to handle a family dinner that ignores your plan entirely. Small questions answered early prevent the plan from quietly dying between appointments.
What personalized nutrition means in practice
It means portions and food choices are set to your body, your routine, and what is available in your market. A plan for a shift worker in Palembang looks different from one for a student in Bandung, even when the goal is the same. Different cooking equipment, different cost per portion, different hours awake.
If a plan cannot survive your Tuesday, it is not personalized. It is just aspirational. So we start from the meals you already cook, adjust them in measured steps, and only then introduce anything new. The test of a good week is whether you followed it without needing to think about it every hour.
What a plan is built on
Your current portions
What is on the plate this week, not an ideal version of it.
Your cooking and shopping reality
Warung, market, or weekly delivery — the plan matches where food comes from.
Your household
If you cook for others, their needs are part of the plan, not an obstacle to it.
Your pace
Changes arrive in steps you can hold, so fewer rounds end in quitting.
Our position on quick fixes
Programs we do not run
We do not sell detox programs, extreme restriction, or promised timelines. Nutrition change is slow and uneven, and a service that pretends otherwise sets you up to quit.
Claims we leave out
Where a claim would need clinical evidence we do not have, we leave it out. That includes numbers about how much you will weigh at some future date.
What we offer instead
A structure you can hold for months: regular sessions, a written plan you can reread, and a nutritionist who already knows your context when you come back.
We are not a hospital service and we do not work alongside a supervising physician. When a case sits beyond what a general online nutrition consultation should handle, the nutritionist says so during the intake review rather than after several paid sessions.
Learning from how others structure this work
The Indonesian online nutrition field has developed quickly over the last few years. Platforms such as Nutric.id organize chat consultation with registered nutritionists alongside online booking for education sessions. Dietela routes new clients through a written condition form before matching them with a nutritionist. Dietducate, used by AhliGiziID for free consultations, shows how education-led apps differ from pure booking tools.
We watch these models because they shape what clients expect: a structured intake, a clear next step, and continuity after the first meeting. An intake form that nobody reads is decoration; a matching step that ignores your topic wastes the first session.
What clients now expect
A written intake that is genuinely read before the first meeting
A named next step, not a vague "we will be in touch"
Continuity, so progress is compared against your own record
Family nutrition
Family nutrition as a core area
Child and infant feeding brings parents to nutrition services more than any other topic. Questions about starting solids, picky eating, and how to feed a family without cooking three separate meals come up constantly. Life cycle nutrition, from pregnancy through older age, runs through much of this work.
We treat parent guidance as its own skill, not a side note to adult weight management. A plan that only works for one person at the table gets abandoned by the second week, so portions and cooking methods are designed for the household you actually live in.
Consultation topics on this site cover adult weight management, family and child feeding, sports nutrition, and life-cycle stages. You can read the full list before registering if you are unsure which one fits.
Specialist topics and honest boundaries
Some requests belong to clinical dietetics or to a hospital teleconsultation model, where a physician and dietitian work together. Yashoda Hospitals, for example, structures online dietician consultations around topics such as thyroid-related dietary needs, PCOS nutrition, gut health, and cholesterol control. Independent practices like NutriGab in Jakarta frame their work around private, tailored programs.
We mention these because they mark the edges of what a general online nutrition consultation should attempt alone
When your case sits past that edge, we say so during the intake review and explain what kind of service would serve you better. General online nutrition consultation is good at portions, habits, family meals, and gradual change. It is not a substitute for medical care, and you should keep working with your own doctor on anything they are already treating.
If you are already under a physician's care, bring that up in the intake form. The nutritionist can then work within those instructions rather than around them, and the plan you receive stays compatible with what your doctor has asked you to do.
What we ask of you
Answer the form properly. Tell us when a plan is not working instead of disappearing. Bring questions to sessions rather than saving them for a crisis. The nutritionist can only adjust what they can see.
That is the whole deal. You bring honest context, we bring structured guidance, and the plan gets better every round.
Bring to the intake
Your usual meals for a week, your schedule, and anything a doctor has already asked you to follow.
Bring between sessions
Small practical questions as they come up, and an honest note when something in the plan stops working.
Where we are
The office address is Jl. Teuku Umar No. 34, Palembang, Sumatera Selatan, 30134, Indonesia. Phone: +62 711 356 789. Consultations are held online, so your location in Indonesia does not limit you.
The office handles scheduling and general questions during working hours, Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00. The consultations themselves happen online, which means the first thing we need from you is the intake form, not a travel plan.
